Hi Evan, thanks for reading. Glad you found the article helpful! Personal finance is one of the most affiliate-rich blogging niches you will find. While you’re not usually linking to physical products, there are major opportunities for affiliate relationships with all kinds of personal finance products and services. We leverage these opportunities, as does virtually every other personal finance publication. So to answer your question, I wouldn’t even think of this as supplemental… I’d think of it as a core part of your business model. Aside from that, another piece of advice I would give you is to build your email list from the beginning, because you can use it to market your own products and services down the line. Best of luck and let us know if you have more questions, or if there’s any way we can help!

Extremely helpful or a beginner blogger only around four months into the journey. It’s daunting to hear about people making decent money within just a few months, so it’s reassuring to hear that that isn’t reality 99% of the time.
I want to ask one question. I blog on personal finance, niched down to focus on beginner investors. How about supplementing income since I can’t utilize affiliate marketing? With personal finance, I can’t just link to an Amazon or Target product.

Just like you I don’t see myself as a blogger, I see myself as an entrepreneur creating a business. And I have big plans for my site.
Thanks for the recommendations I’ll check them out

You’re right, you’re in three different niches. (:

The challenge is approaching those niches from the perspective of a stay-at-home mom. So, handling finance, how do you do so from the perspective of a stay-at-home mom? What information do they need? You don’t need to worry so much about labeling your niche. Instead, concern yourself more about the problems you’re trying to solve for stay-at-home moms. Hope that helps!

So much information in there and you certainly got me thinking about my niche. I was wondering if I could ask for your advice since I feel a little stuck. My focus is on helping stay-at-home moms make money from home so that they can stay at home with their kids instead of going back to a job. What niche would you say that is? I feel like I am in between three niches: blogging-business-finance. Thanks, Kris
